20ga extended mag shotguns

What are my options for a 20ga shotgun with a magazine more than 4 rounds?
im looking to go the cheapest route. mossberg 500 is the obvious choice. remington 870 only has 12ga with extended mag.

Choate makes an extension for the modern 20 gauge 870. Others may also.

However, no one makes a magazine too big to run dry. SO, practice reloading on the fly. Shoot one, load one....

You have it custom made. I had one made for my sons 20 ga 870 EY. Its full length and holds 8+1 now. Mine was made by George Stringer, but I don't think he working anymore now? Nevertheless, it's just some threads and a tube so shouldn't be beyond a lot of gunsmiths capabilities.

Sorry I have no pics of it,

Seems like reinventing the wheel- if my perceived risk inside the house needed more shots, I`d use my carbine or the fat-bullet revolver that is my backup gun.

My point to switching to 20 ga. was 4-fold.
1) Less wear and tear on me.
2) To have a standard gun usable by other members of the household
3) A light, fast gun to get off the first 1 to 3 quick accurate shots.
4) A reason to sell off my pistol-calibre carbines which serve no purpose.

The only reason I would think of modifying a 20 gauge would be if I lived in a jurisdiction that didn`t allow carbines. Even then, a handgun backup provides the `New York reload`` if somehow I didn`t solve my problem with 5 shots of buck.

Anything added to the gun makes it heavier and more awkward and is counterproductive to my mindset.

I have an 870 20ga tactical, it has a 2 shot extension. Choate makes a mag extension for the 870 20ga and so does Remington.

I have a benelli nova 20ga that I bought as my wife's first upland hunting gun, cost me $325 about 7 years ago. It now sits in the safe or leaning on the night stand mostly unused with a 4 shot extension on it to bring it to 9+1. It gets taken out 2-4 times a year to shoot at ducks and gets put back into tanker mode as soon ad I get home. I like the extra capacity and have no trouble maneuvering it around my house as I've been shooting shotguns very regularly for 20+ years.
