20ga Buck Shot

My totally non-tactical Ted Williams 20ga limits me to 2 3/4" shells, still, nothing I would volunteer to be shot with. I have done a lot of research and come up empty so far, but does anyone out there know if 2 3/4" 20ga shells come in any flavor of buck other than Number 3?

Thee bad news is that the only loads I've ever seen in 20 ga 2 3/4 is indeed #3 buck. The good news is that I've seen deer killed with that load and it's nothing to sneeze at - very effective in it's range. The 3 inch rounds are #2 buck, so you don't gain much by moving up. Your still in possession of a hard hitting, effective defensive shotgun.

Practice, they say, makes perfect.....

#3 buck will do the job w/out a doubt. So will that Ted Williams,if properly employed.

I'd like to see a bit more variety in 20 gauge "Serious" ammo, but that's more for choices in a particular shotgun than uncertainty about effect.

Did you know that your "Ted Williams" is most likely a Winchester 1200????

My "ted" in 12 with a poly-choke is marked "2 3/4 only" also; When I cross-referenced it, it turned out to be a Winnie!!!!

Whats the model # and there should be a "200" # also...like215.515...

Don't want to know your SN, but I can tell you what it really is!!!

Chris!
