2 or more SX-1 questions

I've been shooting my field grade SX-1 and, miracle of miracles, it still works after I worked on it - all new springs, stainless steel rebound tube, steel follower and new buffer. I can't find my notes and seem to remember somebody saying to loctite the rebound tube in place. (I could not, not, not, not, get the pin out of the original rebound tube to replace the spring. I think it's a replacement pin because it's like an overlapping roll pin(sort of), except thick steel. I even tried heat and a big hammer.) But I digress.

1. Which loctite do I use on the new stainless rebound spring tube? Blue? Do I absolutely need to glue it in?

2. What do I use to glue on the little silver oval on the pistol grip? I have some silicone adhesive that looks like it'll do.

The good news is that even with the extra power rebound spring it shot the Fiocchi 1 ounce low recoil target loads from day one. And the 1-1/8 White Rino HDCP loads are a pussycat. And man does the MOD choke throw a beautiful pattern. I think I'll keep this gun. :)

Thanks.

John,
Finest semi shotgun ever made.

1. Honest, I have no idea what Loctite.
Nu_Line out of Harvester, Missouri is whom did work like this for some.

2. Nu_Line again.
I have used 24 hour Epoxy, 5 min Epoxy on some other guns.
Busting ice while duck hunting sometimes loosens these...

I am not much help I know.
The one Field Grade I kept, is the first one I bought in 1974.
I have only replaced the recoil spring in the stock once, and that was early on, as it was said one was supposed to.

Nu_Line did external knurled chokes in about '75.
I used Pach Decel recoil pads.

I just shot the durn thing . :)

Now the gun still runs, even after 300,000 rounds through it.
Runs flawlessly as it always has.
It now sports its original factory recoil pad, and is retired now I think It earned it.

In some ways I wish that gun could talk, and then again some stuff needs to stay private and sorta glad it can't. ;)
I always get messed up on statute of limitations...seems not all jurisdictions are the same...;)

Thanks, I've got some epoxy around here somewhere. If I can't find my notes, or the directions that came with the rebound tube, I guess I'll call Wright's or Nuline.

I know I have the directions, but after moving my parents to assisted living and sorting through the things they accumulated during 63 years of marriage I've got boxes and bags piled everywhere and can't get to my stuff.

I don't know what Winchester did when they made the SX-1 barrels, but they should still be doing it.
