I have this lifelong friend (40 yrs since we met in Cub Scouts), and Larry used to carry a Lorcin .380 in a belly band. Laugh at that Lorcin if you want, but I watched him hit 2" cubes at 50' as easily with that Lorcin as I did with a .44 or .45acp. The point is that he had a problem concealing that "little" gun, and doing it comfortably. Larry is one of those laconic guys who never gets excited. As a present to my best friend, I built him a ParaOrdnance P-14, and handed it to him with a Galco NSA holster. Dubious, he tried it on. He was happy when it was concealed under a sweatshirt, over-joyed when a T-shirt covered it, and absolutely giddy when it didn't print under a loose tank top and running shorts!!!He was like a school girl finding out that the newest heart throb bubble gum group would be making a special appearance at her 13th birthday party. Balanced on the offside with 2 14rnd mags, you're carrying about 6 lbs, and it really disappears.
It is not the size of the gun, but how you carry it.
My friend now carries a fullsize .45 places he would never carry that .380, and with 43 rounds of ammo rather than 13(?). The .45 shoots follow-up shots much more quickly, hits MUCH harder with 230grn HydroShocks, and is presented in a fraction of the time of that .380 with the belly band. He never would have believed it without trying it, and would not have tried it unless under pressure to make use of the gift.
Sometimes the things which really work do not sound logical.
