2 groove vs. 4 groove

I have a 2 groove rifled SMLE mk1 #4. Would there be any advantages/ disadvantages of having one type of rifling, opposed to the other, WHEN USING CAST BULLETS? I know there`s gotta be some "Leadheads" out there! LOL

In the M1903A3 at least, there is not a dimes worth of difference with any bullets. I have fired both two groove and four groove with both lead and jacketed bullets and could never tell any difference between the barrels. In fact, the 2-gooves in general seemed to shoot a bit better.

I can't speak for sure about the 2-groove in the No. 4, but I don't see why the same would not be true.

I have a 2 groove barrel on my custom Enfield Scout rifle. It is a very accurate, very consistant rifle. It definitely shoots better than my 4 groove #4 Mk1. 2 groove barrels are supposed to be more forgiving with lead bullets but so far that's just hearsay. I haven't shot any lead yet.
