M MFH New member Nov 29, 2000 #1 Am I the only individual who didn't know the length of a standard 12ga shell? I really thought that the 2 3/4" was the loaded length, not the fired casing. The loaded ones are only 2.3x inches, not 2.75.

D Dave McC Staff In Memoriam Nov 30, 2000 #2 It's a common misconception,MFH. It helps explain why so many folks mess up their shotguns and themselves using 3 inch shells in 2 3/4" guns, etc.
