2 3/4" or 3" shells for Saiga 12

Sorry for the newbie question, but I am going to get some ammo tonight for my Saiga 12 thats on the way and i was wondering what size shells i should get. Since i can use either 2 3/4" or 3" shells, does one size seem to work or cycle better than another? Any suggestions on this asap would be very helpful

What's your objective? Home defense? Animals? Although 3" are great they tend to be too much kick for some people and it's hard for them to get a fast follow up shot. For HD against people I'd choose a 2 3/4" 00 or 000 buck or even better I'm a big fan of Winchester's pdx1 hd combo loads. For animals such as bear I'd recommend something like brenneke's black magic in 3". But I wouldn't run a load like that for people or where you need to worry about over penetration. Why do you need this info asap? Are you in imminent threat of danger?

ok thanks. I was just going to pick up ammo for it last night a few hours after i posted so i just wanted some input before i bought a bunch of ammo. They really only had 2 3/4" so thats what i got.
