Gang,

I stopped by my local pawn shop (I love to buy guns from pawn shops), and sitting in the case was a 2 1/2" Smith & Wesson 66-1. It was marked $599.99. After some discussion, they dropped the price to $475.00. This thing looks as though it has never been fired. They are holding it for me. Before I drop the coin I wanted to bounce the value off you guys.

Thoughts?

$475 is a great price for a 2.5" 66-1.
The -1 is a pinned barrel, recessed cylinder version with the short barrel being the most desirable.

I have a 66-1 in 2.5" and I do believe it's my favorite revolver. Private sales are bringing $500-$600 around here, I'd buy another one for $475.

I passed on it. I am trying to get them to come down a bit. I'll keep everyone udated as to my success or failure.

If the condition is that exceptional I would buy it for that price.

Revolvers sit,,,,,,glocks move

What a load of manure , I seldom ever see used Smith revolvers in the shops or the gun shows unless they are very recent production. And the vintage Smiths will always increase in value. Glocks are like a dime a dozen appliance.
