I was blastin' with my model 19 today and noticed it does not like 125 gr semi-wads. About three would go and then the next ones would no longer feed. The slug worked its way so far forward that it wouldn't allow the cylinder to revolve (the next round would catch on the chamber end of the barrel). Cor-Bon 12 gr worked great though. :D

bad crimp.

Try better ammo.

12 gr?!?!?!
I know Cor Bon loads light for caliber,,but 12 gr .357's???
Those puppies must really book!

I run 180 gr Winchester Supremes in my M19 for defense/hunting. 158 gr Winchester white box or Remington 158 gr from Wal-Mart for practice. I simply buy UMC for casual shooting. Cheaper than my reloading at present.

Maj,
125 gr SWC does seem odd. I missed that first time around. I wonder if they somehow got 124 gr .355's (9mm) mixed up in there? That could explain the lousy crimp.

124?

I looked at the size of the full wad cutters I shoot and they are 148 grs... so that does seem kind of strange. lately I've been shooting full wads in my model 19 from sellier & bellot. they shoot great... light load is close to a standard 38 or even a 380 I'm thinking... can shoot all day and night with out getting tired. Only problem is no one takes a 2nd look at the range.

Only real problem I have with full wads is getting them in the cylinder.. speed loaders don't work well so you just have to hand feed one at a time.

I don't have the box anymore. But I remember they were Winchester White box 125 grain. They were as tall as normal bullets but the case was crimped around the bullets length, with only a MM or so being exposed at the top. These weren't super short wad-cutter cartridges that are only as long as a standard case. Clear up my terminology for me.

I bought the ammo about a year ago. I'm going back to the range today and I think I will root through the trash to see if I can find it.
