1st try on IDPA

I'm about to start to learn how to shoot IDPA style, using my Glock G17 and G34 Production SSP. I'm all geared up, but want to know more about ammo loads. I currently have the Vanek Classic Trigger kit on both the Glocks and a Wolff 13lb recoil spring. What's the best heads, power factor etc to have a good shooting pistol out of a Glock? TIA!:)

Are you handloading or buying ammunition?

If you are buying, then whatever is cheapest will do. I am at present shooting WWB 115 gr FMJ while my reloading equipment is in storage awaiting completion of a new house.
If handloading, a lot of shooters prefer subsonics with a 130-147 gr bullet at a velocity to give power factor 130-132. My last load was a 135 gr Billy Bullet (moly coated lead) at 980 fps.

It doesn't matter nearly as much as you might think while you are "about to start to learn how." You have a lot of technique and rules to learn before fine details of ammunition matter.
