Hey guys, a customer came at me with a question, he has an early 70's beautifully kept model 1200 16 gauge with a 2 shot tube. he wants to know if the tube can be modified to carry more shells. He lives on another island so I cannot physically take the gun apart, he sent me some photos and I have done some looking but cannot find out definitively if the spring is being held in by dimple that can be ground out and a different spring but into the tube (we have a tonne lying around), or if there is a stop welded in place. any help would be appreciated.

There is a magazine plug in the gun that restricts magazine capacity. Remove the mag cap, remove the mag spring retainer, and then you can remove the mag plug, spring, & follower, and clean out the tube. There are no dimples. You can also clean up the stock spring and try it as it's pretty robust, but you're probably best served by replacing it. If you need to order a replacement, scroll down. $5.49 + shipping:
