I've just checked the Ruger site, and found that my father's M77, in
.243 was a first year manufacture with ser.# 170X. They were apparently numbered from 1-1911. I knew it was an early one, but had no idea. Interestingly the ser.# is also stenciled on the bottom of the bolt.
My Dad never fired it much - I'm guessing 100-150 rounds max. I'd guess 95% blue, and 90+ on the wood. Can someone guestimate a value on this? Thanks alot.
added: Any idea of the twist rate on this??
