1953 Win 94 in 30/30

Hi all. Not sure if I'll actually get it. I am just trying to see what seems reasonable. Sorry I don't have a pic, but the bluing is almost completely gone. Stocks are in decent shape. Well used but intact and a very dark color that I would call a very dark brown. Rifle seems to function fine. Asking price is $479. Only reason I am considering it that it is a pre 64. If it were not I wouldn't see them getting much more than $200 for it. I will say I am not really up on the market on these. What say you?

Tough call. To be honest there isn't any real reason why a 1953 model 94 should be worth any more than a 1964 model. But they do sell for more all things being equal. It is the really old rifles that are truly valuable.

To the right person it would probably bring that much. I've seen some in decent condition go for $600 or more. But like said, without photos is very hard to say for sure. I don't think I'd buy it.

I've got a '57 that's close to 95% and don't have that much of an imaginary dollar value on it. I'd shop around or make a lower offer. Just my $.02.....Then again I see AK's going for big bucks these days.

That's probably a ballpark figure for a pre-64 M94. I bought one about 10 years ago on Gunbroker for $165 but that was 10 years ago and nobody else was bidding. Your description could be talking about mine. They look good in this shape if you ask me. Who wants a new looking pre-64 M94 anyway? They are great fun to shoot. You know what the serious collectors say, you can't pay too much, just too soon.

Check out SimpsonLtd. They have a good many of them, and they also have very good photographs as well as a fair description of what you are buying. You will get a good idea of what they sell for also.

Old Winchesters and Savages 99s mimic the economy. When times are good its a sellers market. Expect to pay more. When times are bad. Its a buyers market. Make a reasonable offer and its yours. But__ always keep in mind. Collectors seldom loose money on (their) weapons selling.

any pre-64 is better than a post 64, finish, wood and metal, make it better. i know i would pay more for a well used pre-64 than i would pay for a new post 64. eastbank.
