1938 browning A-5

smokin' barrels

i have a 1938 browning A-5 12 Ga. 2 3/4" and i am curious, what is the value of that gun? wood is in really good condition, only a few scratches and a pretty clean finish, receiver has some patina, original bolt and screws with serial number engraved in the screw head (also in bolt) and the barrel is original to the gun and in good condition with only a few marks where the bluing faded a bit. only problem is, some IDIOT decided to be "smart" and put a poly-choke on the end of it.....

around 350-450 dollars, they are nice firearms,Yes poly chokes were common during that time period! I still enjoy shooting mine.:)Cliff

okay, great thanks for the information! and yes i popped a few rounds through it and it shoots like a dream. i have a maxus in 3 1/2" and my A5 shoots 2 3/4" with less recoil than that with the same shell, both beautiful arms in my opinion, although im a sucker for anything Browning. have a 425 citori and an A-Bolt in 30-06 springfield on he way :D
