Turns out the follow up , after much investigation, to my post a few months back about finding a 9x25 Mauser Export got better: It's one of the few made in 9mm Steyr! (for the Austrian Army) and....it escaped rechamberring!
Too bad my Chamber-casting came out in three pieces....I may have noticed the case should have been 2 mm shorter (easy to miss 2mm after putting the casting back together the best that I could) and it would have saved my firing 9x25 and learning what is probably an extraordinarilly expensive lesson. (no longer "all matching")

Lucky? Yes: only a scrape on my arm from the broken hammer. The lockwork frame cracked around the frame latch, in three places, but stayed together until I took it apart....phew!
