1927 Modelo Sistema sights?

Cheapshooter

I have a 1927 Argentine Colt that had been re-blued, and fitted with Pachmayr grips when I bought it, so there isn't a collector value issue. It is however a great shooter, even with the standard military sights. What would be a decent, reasonably priced replacement sight set to make this a better range shooter. Not worried about SD, night sights, or holstering the pistol. Just want an improved sight picture. Also, adjustable, or non adjustable?

Why don't you pick up a spare slide, fit it (easy to do), and then put whatever sights you want on that? Colt slides can be fitted to the Argie frame and that way you are not runining the existing slide (even refinished it has more value than one that has had sights changed).

Slides are cheap. Likely find one with better sights already installed if you look around a bit. Be a good gunshow project.

Since these are made to Colt specs, just about any sight that will fit a standard American 1911 will work.

The front sight will be the old style narrow tenon type so you'll have to have a narrow tenon sight.

The rear sight is a standard dovetail so most any sight that's designed for an unaltered slide dovetail will work.

Take a browse through the Brownell's or Midway catalogs and you'll find all kinds of rear sights and at least some narrow tenon fronts.
Of course, if you want you can have the slide converted to a modern wide tenon hole, or even convert to a dovetail front.
