Anyone have one of these? Just watched "The Wild Bunch" again the other night. Man that is one awesome piece of machinery. Saw a real one for sale at a gun show about 20 yrs ago. Price was $10,000. Even came with the catch can. But since I needed my car more than a machine gun I passed on it.:D

Got one...sort of.

I have a Ramo 1919 which was built on a registered 1917 sideplate; the major difference as I understand it is in the trunion and the water jacket. I had a second 1919 made by Urich and was going to have the Ramo rebuilt as a true watercooled 1917, but when I sold off the Urich 1919 to help pay for an MG42, I decided to keep the Ramo as it was in 1919 configuration.

I haven't checked, but I would guess that an operational M1917 would go for a lot more than $10 K today.

Depending on whether it was a sideplate or C&R , I would guess somewhere in the $20k-30k range.
