I have a Colt 1911 used in WWi by my Uncle from Canada, it's a C124** that dates it 1914 production. The officers had to buy their own. The holster is different from our GI model. Another is an FN Hipower #9** and that dates to the later 30's with tanagent sights and wooden stock/holster. It has a EV on the back strap, contract for Estonia. I need to get photos to send.

Actually I think this is one of those "Look what I got" posts :p . Kind of like when someone buys and new gun and wants to show it off.

And I for one wouldn't mind seeing the pictures :)

I too would like to see the pictures. I have a M1911 from 1918. The Colt Commercial 1911 from 1914 would be a nice collectible pistol in good original condition especially if it can be documented it saw combat action in WWI.

Hi, Franco,

If at all possible, you should try to document that the gun was actually carried/used by your uncle in WWI. Not only would that make the gun more interesting, but it would add significantly to the value of the gun should anyone ever have to sell a piece of family history.
