1911A1 Question

[Banzai]

Is a Springfield 1911A1 considdered a series 70 or a series 80 when I go to buy some cool parts to have put on it, like a new extractor or safety, etc? Or is it something else altogether? Thanks

The "Series" terms really apply only to Colt. The Series 70 has a collet type barrel bushing, the Series 80 has a firing pin safety. I don't think Springfield, Inc., is using either at this time.

Banzai, Series 70 parts will work on the Springfield. George
