1911

I bought a RIA that had to be sent back 3 times. On the 3rd, they gave me my money back. Great customer service and it seems most people don't have the issues I did.

On the other hand, Remington is made in the US of A

After the R-51 fiasco, coupled with Big Green's ongoing reputation for drain-circling quality control, I honestly don't know the next time I'll be able to trust a Remington product.

I can only tell you my experience with the Stainless Remington R1 that I purchased. I have put about 250 rounds through it so far without a single hiccup. I have used cheap aluminum hulled 230gr Federal FMJ, 230gr Federal hydra shocks, and 230 grain Winchester PDX1 defenders. It has eat them all without missing a beat. It's accurate and the fit and finish seem great to me. I like the sights which are big and easy to see. I have heard some criticisms of the trigger but it seems fine to me.

what is the major difference between the 2 firearms?
thanks
The major difference is that Armscor has been making 1911s for several decades, and they know how to cut a frame bridge correctly.

Remington? Maybe they've learned, but the ones I've seen photos of look like the internals were carved out with a Dremel wielded by a drunk.

Remington Concealed Carry CMD

I have a Remington Concealed Carry CMD and have had no problems. I shoot 9mm, 40mm and 45 Cal and I will say the 45's are the most fun for me. I have a Sig 1911 full size but my favorite is the CMD size.

So, custom, hand-fitted parts . . . :D

Rock Island, i personally see no point in buying much else unless you're going to splurge and go for a Les Baer, Ed Brown, or a Colt

For me, the next time I buy a Remington product will be the day when there is absolutely nothing else available and the last gun in my inventory has completely quit working.
