1911 Trijicon Target Sight Pin Problem

Hello all,

I could use some advice. I'm having a small issue with the target sights on my .45 Springfield Loaded Target model. Whenever I take it out to the range and put even one full magazine through it, 7 shots winchester white box, the pin in my rear sight starts to slip out (left side). After seven shots it is exposed about 1/4'', after 25 shots, a good 1/2''. After applying lock tight to the the pin about six months ago, I took my springer out today and what do you know, the problem still occurs. Any thoughts? The sights are the trijicon tritium 3 dots. Has anyone else encountered this problem with trijicon target sights? If so, how did you go about fixing the problem? Other than this problem, I personally love the sights.

I've been thinking about contacting a local gunsmith to just put in a slightly larger pin, or should I just contact Trijicon or Springfield Armory?

Thanks

You can:
-bend the pin slightly and reinstall
-peen the holes shut, or mushroom the pin ends.

I bash, er, peen my pinholes shut.

I have had the same exact problem with the same 1911 i bought about a year ago and mine walked out after about 200 rounds. so i took it to the local inhouse smith at a indoor range i was shooting at and asked what he thought of it . he just said set it to your prefferance and locktight the pin back in. then reset the pin head so i did and 500 rounds later no issue sofar. may not be what you would do or think you would do but it worked for me and im happy.

I would just taper the pin ends with a punch (if its a rool pin), or you could bend it (if its a straight pin). either or would work fine and you are not waiting on Springfield or paying someone 20-40$ for a simple fix.

Still waiting on Springfield to get back to me. I'm leaning towards either bending the pin (it's a solid pin) or getting a smith to look it over.
