1911 Sear Spring Issue

Got a drop in reduced trigger pull kit and cannot get the new sear spring to go in. Read several articles, watched many assemble disassemble videos on YouTube, and have tried multiple times. Besides not using a revolver, any ideas why it won't go back together? Thanks in advance.

Slip the mainspring housing down until the slot in the frame for the bottom of the spring is exposed.
Put spring in place and make sure the little hook on the bottom of the spring goes into the slot in the frame.
Keep pressure on the spring to keep it flat in the frame, and slide the housing back up.
Nuttin' to it.

Viewed from the rear, the left-hand leaf goes BEHIND (toward you from) the sear. The middle leaf goes BEHIND (toward you from) the disconnector.

Where most people mess up is trying to slide the tip of the left leaf "under" (forward of) the sear. Wrong. Put the tab at the bottom of the spring into the slot in the frame, then just flop the spring forward into place.

Also the harsh truth is,"drop in" might be a touch optimistic.It happens sometimes.

It shouldn't be difficult to make a drop in leif spring, come on!

We need to find out if we're talking about the same spring. If it were a Goldcup style sear and he's having trouble with the sear depressor spring, then I'd use a hammer strut pin to keep it in place then let the sear pin push it out, reassemble the hammer and install.
