I can't get the saftey lever out I have never had this problem
before. I was fitting a high ride grip safety and was disassembaling it to do some more fitting don't know
what to do next.

thanks for any help

Did it get tight in the frame! try to remember how you put it in, it did slip in?
Wiggle and turn when you hit the spot it went in it should come out. Don't force anything

It went in with no problem but I have tryed everything I can
think of to get it back out. Never had a problem befor this
has me stumped

Mine's tight at times. You can't pull it straight out. Depress the grip safety and wiglle it up and down while pulling it out. It will come out best when you have it about 80% to it's most upward position......

Does that make any sense?

1911 safety

Dear Sir:
Cock the hammer. The safety will need to be wiggled up & down and grip the tang of it with some parrallel pliers with leather between the jaws so a not to scratch it and pull out as you engage and disengage the safety lever - it WILL come out!

I tryed pliers and it didn't work. It's an ambi safety and dosn't seem tight in the grip safety but it might not have
as much up and down movement as it should. I had it in and out a number of times when I was fitting it to the gun with out any problems and it worked fine when test fired. something seems to be holding it in the gun but for the life of me I don't know what it might be. I took one of my other 45's apart just for drill with no problems. I will keep working at getting it out one way or another it will come.
Thanks
