1911 repair kit

I'd like to put together a field repair kit for my 1911's. I have something similar for my AR-15's, with a firing pin, FP retaining pin, extractor, ejector, springs, etc.
What would you recommend as an essential parts kit for a 1911 (not that I've needed this yet!)? Thanks.

Recoil spring, firing pin, firing pin spring, firing pin stop, extractor, barrel link and link pin. If you want to get fancy a fitted hammer (with strut and strut pin) and sear. Toss is a hammer pin and sear/disconnector pin and you should be set.

I'd add a barrel bushing and recoil spring plug to Jim V's list.

In general use, your 1911 should not break. I'd take a spare parts kit containing a recoil spring plug, recoil spring, and slide stop as these are easier to lose. Apart from that, magazine catch and spring are cheap and would definitely help.

John Browning made us equal.

Without Browning, we might not know about the other two...

I have the same philosophy as DRenn. If my 1911 ever broke down at the range, I'd go home immediately, watching out for lightning and storm clouds on the way.
