Hey guys I was at the range tonight and my old Colt would not eject the spent rounds. I would fire about 3 or 4 rounds and then the slide will stick about a 3rd of the way back and stop. When I checked it out the empty brasswas stuck in the barrel, other times it would be half way out of the gun. I fired about 200 rounds of 230 hardball,Winchester white box. When I racked the slide by hand the brass ejected every time. I think my extractor is on the way out here any opinions?
Thanks 45automan

Sounds like the extractor. If you know how, try replacing it. Extractors are relatively inexpensive.

Since you're firing factory ammo, I would discount the spring weight.

That's a common adjustment/replacement, check the extractor tension by sliding a round under the extractor while the slide is off. It should have 1-2lbs of spring tension, also check the extractor for damage. Buy the Kuhnhousen book, tightning is done with a hammer on a wooden bench, light to medium whack to the center fat part with the extractor facing up then reassemble and check tension..easy does it..henry
