1911 mags

As long as your Springfield is a standard single-stack full size, any quality 1911 magazine will fit.

I have had absolutely no problems with McCormick mags in my Springfield Armory Full Size 1911. They're a little expensive, but they work great.

You get what you pay for!

Just remember that you get what you pay for! Do you want to trust that the "cheap" mags will work when you face a BG? Think about it............

Hey Redrum, welcome aboard! You're starting to sound like me already, yet this subject comes up so often people would be wise to use the archives. When in doubt, buy a Wilson! I have some Mecgars, some CMC and a few GI and in my USGI gun all seem to work. I have Colts that are picky eaters. The other mags get used for range and competition only, wilsons for carry. Get the steel basepads, the mags drop better, plus over time the plastic will break.

You'll find many problems of the 1911 can be cured by the use of high quality magazines. I recommend wilson combat magazines as well as McCormicks PowerMag. I have never seen the value of putting a $5 magazine into a $700 pistol, except maybe for the range when you feel the need to practice clearing failure to feed, etc.

The Wolff 7 rounders work well, at least the two a friend has have worked just peachy keen in both his and my pistols.

Pachmayr

Makes (or used to make) 7-rd stainless mags with a rubber bumper which is unobtrusive. Bought two from Brownells in 1992 and have never, ever had a problem in my Series 70.
