1911 grip screw bushings

I just noticed that one of the grip screw bushing on my Springfield milspec is drilled a little high, the wood grips need a little persuasion to go on but the black plastic grips and a set of pachmayrs weren't even close. My question is, short of welding up the holes and drilling them again how would Springfield fix this? I already called them and the gun will be on its way as soon as i get to fed ex, im just curious as to what they'll do.

That is an interesting question, mine would be:why should the manufacturer
have to "repair" a frame so the customer can fit an aftermarket accessory
on it?

They shouldn't, for aftermarket grips.

But the Springfield Milspec ships (or used to) with two sets of grips: One is wood, with a nice-looking but totally non-authentic "US" in the center, and the other a set of full-checkered black plastic. My take on the OP is that the OEM wood grips don't fit well, and the OEM black plastic grips don't fit at all.

Aguila, you are correct, wood grips aren't fitting to good and the plastic are a total no-go. Oh well, it's on it's way to Springfield, just have to wait and see.

That is correct, however op specifically named an aftermarket accessory and
my comment addressed that statement.
It is interesting that the wood grips can be fitted and the neoprene ones can't
just curious, are those pistols made in Brazil?I would like to buy one but unfortunately for me they cannot be legally sold here.Only thing I am not too
keen on is that split barrel other than that nice piece.
