1911 Concealed Carry IWB holster question

I want to get a IWB holster for concealed carry for my 1911s. I am most likely to use it for my Kimber Compact II, with the 4" barrel and officers' grip.

However, it would be nice if I could use it for a full-sized/gi-sized 1911.

Am I asking too much? Is there a significant problem with having a holster 1" too long for the Kimber [but thus the right length for the other 1911s]?

I like 'tuckable' holsters, like the Garrett Industries Silent Thunder, which I have for a BHP.

Again, I am most likely to use it for the 4" barreled 1911, but it would be nice if I could use it for both. If I were to use percentages, I'd guess-timate that I'd use the 4" 1911 85% of the time the holster was on, with the 5" used no more than 15%, but possibly even less.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!

I wouldn't think that having the extra 1" sticking out would be a problem. I took a look at the Theis website, and the one picture of a 1911 that I saw looked like a 5" barrel, and had some slide sticking out of the bottom of the holster.

He's asking if it's a problem to get a 5-inch holster that will mostly carry a 4-inch gun--so a holster that's too long rather than too short. I'd be curious too.

@MK11
sorry about that i miss read what he was asking...

honestly I would go with a tuckable iwb holster that fits your 4 inch carry gun....the second issue that comes to mind is not all 1911s are the same shape and size meaning your 5 incher my not fit properly because all gun manufactures dont make there 1911's to the same specs as others may so your 5 may not fit in the holster that carries your ccw and vise versa in my opinion i would just get a iwb for each gun.

try a kholster brand iwb holster. i have 2 for different guns are they are remarkable comfortably, conceal well and easy to draw. the price is reasonable as well. just sayin i like em.

I have been carrying a 3 inch UCCII in a 5 inch hoslter with no issue. I just got a 3 inch holster. Wow a big differnce.

I got a Crossbreed Supertuck for my 3" Springfield EMP, but am happy to report it works perfectly with my full-size Remington R1 as well.

I carry 1911's IWB. I have the springfield armory champion with a 4" barrel and the springfield loaded with 5" barrel. I only use one holster the crossbreed super tuck deluxe. This guys are great and would highly recommend their products.
