What affects reliability in a 1911. Tight bushing to slide fit or tight bushing to barrel fit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Copythat, actually neither will effect reliability. If the bushing is tight against the slide it's just going to ride the barrel. It doesn't move within the slide. If the bushing to barrel fit was tight enough to affect function you wouldn't be able to put it on the barrel to begin with. One area where a bushing might affect function is if it isn't relieved properly in the front and rear for the barrel to tip up as it unlocks. When I fit a bushing to a pistol, the bushing is reamed .001" larger than the barrel diameter and fit tightly enought into the slide to require a wrench to remove it. George
