1911 buildup

Saw $200 kits consisting of barrel, frame, and slide. They are supposedly CNC and CAD designed. Any one ever try using these kits? What do you prefer; Round top or flat top?

The idea of building a 1911 from a kit is a tempting one.
I'ld go with a stainless frame and a damascus slide from Caspian... Very tempting.
Round or Flat? Round. I'm not a bullseye shooter.

It doesn't say who makes them, but I know Federal Arms offers the kit and so does another place. I saw the ad in SGN. I wanted to try to build my own 1911(first one) and I didn't want to screw up especially with top name brands, but I also didn't want something where pin holes aren't aligned. That's why I was looking at this combo(CNC and CAD).
