A tangent off the "Favorite Semi-Auto Brand" poll spawns a poll for those wanting to show their preference for a specific 1911 manufacturer/builder.

Springfield

Yes, I know Wilson Combat is the best quality 1911 out there in many people's opinions, but not all of us can throw out $2,000-$4,000 for ONE pistol. Thus, for the money, I prefer Springfield.

Suppose I think a Les Baer slide on a Caspian frame is the deal? Which box do I check?

Polls only allow 10 options.. I guess I could of made it more clear that this poll was for currently available, over the counter 1911's in production at this time. I could of made one of the choices a full house custom.. But eliminating any one of the ones that are listed would inevitably piss someone off also..

Sistema Modelo 1927 1911. I ain't payin' no $1500 on no .45, dadgumit. (ok, ok, I would love a Wilson, but $300 for a top quality 45? Can't beat it).:D :p

Wilson Combat and Les Baer have both lost their big Government contracts because they were putting out garbage at twice the price everyone else charges. You're better off with a Kimber or Springfield Armory pistol.

I had to vote "other".

My favorites are GI surplus. But it seems those are almost gone.

First runner up would be Series 70 or prior Colt commercial.

Man, I wish I could win the lottery!

SVI

Well, I voted Springfield because I own several. But I also a couple of Colts and a Kimber. Being a (currently unemployed) pale-blue collar worker, my purchases through the years have always been in the mid-range level. Not sure if I'll ever get around to buying a unit from a "big name" outfit. Still need to fence a couple of acres, attend many more self defence training classes, shoot the guns I already have, etc, etc. Stay safe.

At least spell it right

I realize that you all might not like the Dalys, but at LEAST spell it right! :(

My two favorite 45's are a Wilson Combat CQB and a Clark customized Kimber Stainless Classic

Long live the 1911
Molon Labe:p
