1911 ambi safety removal (Kimber)

Does anyone have any hints on how to remove the ambidextrous safety on a Kimber model 1911.

Yes,its a two piece safety. You have to wriggle the safety between safe and fire while pulling toward the left side of the gun. The new safety may have to be fitted to work properly.Took mine to a gunsmith to avoid the hassles,cost me $50.00 total including new safety.sj

don't forget you have top cock the hammer to take the safety out.

If you don't want the ambi-safety let me know I have several Kimber right hand safeties that I have swapped out.

It can be a real bear to get them apart. Seems like Kimber must hammer some of them together.
