got a 1911 9mm commader size. it will feed hard ball all day long but any type pf hollow point will stop with the bullit nose flat aginst the bottom lip of the bbl. like its comming out of the mag too strait. now if i only load one round in the mag it will chaimber just fine:confused: i only have two mags both are meggar.

I'd try some better mags. Shooting Star, maybe?

Also, try this. Next time you're at the range, lock the slide to the rear. Insert a new magazine, and keep pushing the new magazine up into the amg well as far as it will go while you release the slide. Did it decide to feed? You migh need to try one of the "higher" mag catches, which position the mag slightly higher in the gun.

testdrive,

I basically built a 9mm, 1911 using a Colt Full size stainless framed Gov't model originally chambered in .38 Super. Mec-Gar makes a great mag, but I strongly suggest you get either an original Colt 9mm factory mag, a Metalform 9mm mag, or a Wilson 9mm mag. The first 2 are available from Brownell's. I found a like new Wilson mag on Gunbroker for $30.00 shipped. I have all 3 and they work well.

Mine feeds anything, LSWC's, HP's, 125 or 147 grain bullets. If you continue to have problems, at least you've narrowed the problem down and probably won't be to hard to rectify.
