Tomorrow I will be working on a 1905 Savage .32 ACP. I does not cock all the time. The problem with it is that the little bulb on the cocking mechanism has worn down. It looks like an easy fix with my wire welder and a bit of filing. I plan to take digital photos and post the fix here so someone else can find the fix if they need to. I am not even going to disassemble the firing pin spring. I have the firing pin and spring wrapped in a heat sink of aluminum foil and the welding will be such a quick zap that the heat sink should do just fine.

I picked up a bolt from Numrich years ago that has been repaired the same way so it looks like this was common with this type of Savage in the past 100 years.
