If you have Turnbull do it, it will go up in value. That's easily seen by going into any store where they sell Turnbull guns and look at the prices and watch them go off the shelf. Cabela's in Buffalo, NY, had ten guns ordered from Turnbull and they are moving fast. Look on Gunbroker and see what they're selling for. Not every company that does custom work on a gun adds value but Turnbull is one of the exceptions. If you do send it to them, have the throat lengthened at the same time they do the CCH. Your Winchester/Miroku has virtually no throat in it at all. They are made to original SAMMI specs and there is basically no throat. You'll have problems chambering heavier bulltets in the gun. They'll feed through the action but you can't close the lever. Turnbull will do this for around an extra hundred bucks. I've had several guns done by them. I'm not saying you'll add all the value to the gun but it will definitely go up after they do the work. FWIW, my Win/Miroku in 45-70 will repeatedly shoot five shot groups off the bench at 114yds (my private range) between 1.3-1.7". I wouldn't hesitate to get it done if I were you. Ever hear anyone say they were sorry they had Turnbull work on their gun? You won't.
