I just picked up a Trapdoor Carbine by Pedersoli in 45-70, it is a really sweet shooting rifle! It was used by Custer and the Indians and was the main rifle for the Army from 1873 to the Krag.
I loaded 2 different loads with 405 grain bullets. I used 5744 and also 12 grains of Trail Boss.
WHat amazed me is that Trail Boss at 50 yards shot to the same point of aim as the 5744. I would have expected it to be a little lower on the target as it has so much less recoil.
The video I shot was my shooting black powder cartridges from Montana Bullet Works
