1866 Winchester questions

I have recently acquired an 1866 Winchester carbine replica from Uberti in 45 Colt. With the light loads I am shooting the gun prints low, but I hesitate to start abusing the sights on such a nice finished rifle. Can anyone give me a clue as to a load that might be more calibrated to the sights? I reload, so shifting to a different bullet will be no problem. I presently shoot a 250 gr cast lead bullet behind a light dose of Bullseye. I assume that heavy loads are not a safe bet in this gun.
I also want to say thanks for the help I have gotten on this forum in the past.

How light are we talking with the bullseye? Use a 250 at 850 from the pistol data section. Is the rear sight as low as it goes?

I am loading 6.6 grs of Bullseye which should give just over 800fps from a handgun. I am shooting at about 20yds using the rear sight as it is, without raising the ladder. Thanks for the interest.
