1860 Colt Army Shoulder Stock Screws

Greetings fellow black powder addicts:

I love the looks and functionality of my replica 1860 Colt Army. One thing bugs me though: the protruding screws that stick-out like sore thumbs on each side of the frame.
I never plan on using a shoulder stock, and am wondering if some one out there has addressed this issue, such as removing the srews and somehow plugging the holes in a pleasing fashion.

Found these black plastic "Automotive Panel Fasteners" at local hardware store. Cut stem to fit and insert in screw hole.

That's funny! The screws never bothered me but the additional cut in the loading /capping gate gave me the same reaction. I'll just shoot it like it is.

Take the screws out, chuck them by the threads in a cordless drill and turn the heads against a file or stone until they are nicely rounded.
Touch with cold blue and re-install.
Done.
 
I like the plastic screw modification. It's nice and flat and only temporary.
But finding those same fasteners could be a chore. :)

These fasteners are available virtually anywhere. I have seen them in Ace Hardware, True Value and Lowe’s. They are usually in the back of the store in slide out draws with other small parts. I believe these are designed for 13/64" holes. I bought them to be used as a temporary measure but have never taken them out. But I can take them out at any time and reinstall the original screws.
