1860 army conversion

I have a Uberti 1860 army that is from the early 80's, that i want to keep the way it is. I also would like to get a new 1860 army and convert it over to shoot normal bullets. I know there are a bunch of posts about it, but I have not bought this gun yet. I hear some brand names work better than others, with the conversion. Being that basic 1860 army guns run only $200 plus, i was curious if anyone who knows more than me about this?? What name brand or even if it should still be an army, works best, with what name brand conversion??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you all.

IMHO, you would probably save a few buck, if you just bought the Uberti factory conversion from DGW, or Cimarron. They come in .44 special, .44 colt, and .45 schofield and are six shots.

A conversion cylinder for an 1860 from Kirst or R&D is a five shot. But, to each his own. Good luck.
