M Model-P New member Aug 10, 2010 #2 A magnet should settle that easily enough. A nickel plated steel frame is quite magnetic. My stainless framed 1858 is also quite magnetic. A nickel plated brass frame will be ever so slightly magnetic, if detectable at all.
