185 grain jacketed bullets

I posted this in the revolver section and it was suggested that I post it here: I have been given some 185 grain bullets in 44 mag. I can find reload recipes for 180 grain but no 185 grain recipes. If I use a 180 grain recipe, what adjustments should I make to the recipes if any are required?

!85 grain bullet measured diameter

Unfortunately I have this thread posted in two places. I first posted on the revolver section and I was told I should post it in this reload area. The diameter of the 185 grain bullets is .450

180 grain data is close enough. 5 grains won't matter. However, like robhic says, there's proper 185 grain data on Hodgdon's site. The Hodgdon data is for .430" cast bullets though. The 180 grain data is jacketed.
"...is .450..." Nope. No bullet is that diameter. Not even a .45 calibre bullet.

.450 bullets.

I have remeasured several of these bullets and they are indeed .450. Thanks to the advice I have received I will not use them. Nice to have knowledgeable people to seek advice.

5 gr in a rifle bullet is enough to have me reduce loads, much less pistol cartridges.

Who is the bullet manufacturer?

DO NOT USE!!

It they are .450, then they are NOT for 44 caliber (special or magnum)

44 is .4325 diameter.

Phew, one of reloading lessons, never ever trust anyone else info, always check for yourself.

Listed caliber vs actual has many variations that are not what they say, that can be issues, pistols are the worst.

38 Special is a bad one. Modern ones like 41 magnum are true.
