18 inch barrel

make sure its unloaded obviously, have the slide forward as if a round was chambered. and then slide a dowl down the muzzle until it hits the bolt face/where the firing pin comes out. the measurement from that to the end of the barrel is what they measure. when in doubt, make it 18.5" to stay safe.

A half inch longer will make absolutly no difference, a half inch shorter will land you in jail. You may not go to jail, but you will lose the gun and have much more grief than you ever wanted. BATFE is not a Rock and Roll band or anyone you want to mess with.

Oh no, nothing like that, friends and I was having a disscusion and it was undecided how a 18inch barrel was measured. My guess was measure at the point where the receiver meets the barrel to the end of the barrel. Glad I didn't bet any $$ or beers on that one:rolleyes:
