I used to own a Sako in a .17 rem. Shot nice and flat, tends to lose a bit of smack when you get at distances of 250 to 300+ yds. I shot coyotes with mine, it was deadly at closer ranges. Made J-E-L-L-O out of their inards, and rarely exits. Had some folks say that you will shoot the barrel out a lot sooner because of it's high velocity, can't say weather that's true or not. Not everybody carries the .17 but most well stocked shops should. If I remember correctly the 25gr. HP is the most common. It does nasty things to prairie dogs and the likes. Wind effects this little guy quite a bit as you can imagine. But it sure is fun to shoot.
