17 powderless?

First off if this is the wrong form for this post, I apologize.

So we have 22 powderless ammo. Does anyone know if they make 17s powderless?

Can't seem to pull anything up on the internet, as probably you have also tried, so unless someone has first hand information on the .17 powderless, we're probably just limited to the .22 variety. Interesting that there aren't all that many reports of the .22s failing to exit the barrel, even in rifles. What could be the real purpose of these powderless .22 cartridges?

The 22 "powderless" ammo is meant for uses where low noise and limited power are the high priorities. This is basically opposite the expectations of 17(assuming HMR)ammo.

"Like varmint hunting in the attic? "

Haha exactly.

A few buddies and myself went the LGS a while back and did a group purchase on some henry 22s. Most of us live with in city limits so we cant shoot as often as wed like. With the powederless, we can sit in the back yard and plink cans all day with no complaints. Pellet guns are louder. It also has enough nock down to take out the squirrels at 25 yards that wont leave your bird feeder alone. Its actually quite a lot of fun. And it was a great excuse to give the wives so we could purchase another henry ;).

So yah we were talking about it the other night, just curious if there were any 17s that came powderless.

I'd be surprised to see "powderless" .17 caliber rounds. Unlike the .22 rimfire varieties the .17's are jacketed and need quite a bit more oomph to ensure leaving the barrel.
