17 barrel in glock 22

Is a Glock 17 barrel a drop in fit in a Glock 22, or would some fitting need to

be done? Thinking about a 9mm barrel due to ammo costs and just for fun.

Anyone try this?

It can't be done. The 22 is a 40 caliber pistol. Frame, magazine, slide, etc. are different.

Clemson (Glock Armorer)

Clemson is right

The bolt face on the slide is the wrong size extractor won't be able to grab the round. The ejector is also incorrect. There may also be some dimensional differences in the locking block.

You'll need a 9mm conversion barrel, available from Lonewolf Distributors, and you'll need G17 mags. Generally, you don't need to exchange the extractor and ejector. I'm not a Glock armorer, but I do know that the conversion works and that the frames are exactly the same.

Parts that are different between the Glock 17 and the Glock 22:

Barrel
Firing pin
Extractor
Locking Block
Magazine Follower
Magazine Insert
Magazine Spring
Spring Loaded Bearing
Trigger Housing (w/ejector)

You sure about the locking blocks? I don't think that's true with current models. Of course, the ejectors and extractors are different, but the 9mm conversion barrels work well with .40 extractors and ejectors. As I said, use G17 mags.

I don't suppose you think that G21 and G20 frames are different? ;)
