16 round mag for Walther P99?

I am looking for who may carry the 16 round mags for the Walther P99. I just bought this pistol and haven't received it yet, but very anxious to shoot it. I must be in heaven, my wife won big in Reno the last month and allowed me to buy 3 new guns.

and a Benelli Super Black Eagle

I had to hurry and buy all 3 at once before she loses her money. Those casinos have big buildings for a reason and it's not from giving money away...

Okay... Two questions.

Did you buy the .40 caliber or the 9mm?

Do you really live in Sacramento (CA, right?)

1) 16-round magazines are only available for the 9mm. The .40 caliber pistols will hold 12 or 13, but you probably won't find any of those.

2) You are taking a serious legal risk by attempting to purchase Hi-cap magazines if you reside in California.

I think a law went into effect in 1999 that banned transfer of Hi-caps regardless of manufacture date.

With that said, you can get them from Earl's but he won't ship them to California for the aforementioned reasons.

Try contacting Jeff @ JeffMP5@aol.com. I bought most of my hi-cap and extra 10rd Walther(Megcar) mags from him(P99 and P88c). He has the best prices I found. He usually has on Gun Broker.com too. That said, he will not ship to California either.

Yeah, I heard about that California stuff too, but I'm curious as to how they'd prove when the mag was brought into the state.

Anyway, the .40 only holds 12 round mags, and short of going to gunshows, your best bets are www.gunbroker.com, www.auctionarms.com and www.gunsamerica.com.

The 9mm 16 round magazines, are quasi-legal, supposedly only Earl's repair has any LEGAL magazines. The .40 hi-caps are most definately not legal. There was a limited pre-production, and early-production run of 9mm magazines before the ban took effect. But no .40 mags were ever pre-ban.

I bought two hi-caps for my P-99 .9mm several years ago. I also have three ten round mags. I usually carry two mags with me. One in the pistol and one in the holster ( I use Nylon ). My thought is that if it takes more than 20 rounds I am in deep cow pies.
Try out the tens. You'll be pleasantly surprised I think. If extra rounds is what you crave then carry an extra 10 round mag.
Better yet, move out of that bastion of American communism!
