16 ga barrel question?

Looking at a Belgium made 16 ga SXS and under the barrels it is marked, 169 choke. It's marked the same on both barrels.

What does this tell me?

This is just a wild guess, but if Europeans specify chokes by the amount of restriction, in micrometers, then 169 would signify .007 inches, which is a bit tighter than skeet.

Braak! Wrong answer.

Means the bore diameters are both 16.9mm and the barrels are choked.

Probably made after 1924, maybe in 1897-1898. Which we could probably figure out from other proof marks and gun characteristics.
