16 and 28 guage?

i just aquired a savage double barel 16 guage, and a remington semi-auto 28 guage from my grandpa. i already took the 16 guage out, and really like it. it seems like the 16 and 28 guage shells are hard to find, i bought the only 2 boxes of 16 my local wal-mart had, and they didnt have any 28 guage shells?

are they really that hard to find?
 
Walmart doesn't sell enough to make it worth their while. Go to a gun or sporting goods store and they ought to have cases of the stuff. After you shoot the 28ga you will fall in love with it. Be prepared for sticker shock on the 28ga shells. AA and Rem STS target shells will be about $7.00 a box in 28ga. Hunting shells will be a bit more. Save any target shells and sell them to reloaders for up to 7cents a hull.
 
Depending on location, ammo for both the 16 and the 28 can be hard to find and of limited variety. Mail order places like Midway and Ballistic Products stock them and components. Many folks shooting these reload their empties.

Don't let that stop you from enjoying these. The 16 was the darling of upland hunters for good reason, and the 28 is just pure fun.
 
No, don't listen to 1*, sell the gun to ME. I'll take better care of it and the 28ga will be the perfect first shotgun for my daughter. Since she's only 1, I'll have to use it until she's old enough. :p

WalMart has 16 gauge here.
Cabela's should have both 16 and 28.
Gander Mountain, which is owned by Cabela's, should also have both gauges.
 
Time to buy a reloader.

In my area 16ga are easier to find than 28. I like them both.
I have my Granddaddys old MEC for the 16ga.

Don't have my own 28 or reloader.......yet.

Shoot that 28, the more people who begin shooting 28 the easier it will be to get ammo.

Gander Mountain and Cabelas and even Dicks have 28 in stock in my area.

28 is pricey but if more people would get into it insead of that abomination the 410 the price will come down.
