My question is if anyone has had any luck with 155 grain BTHP ammo in .308 cal out of a 1/10 twist barrel. Looking for longer range performance as good as or better than 175 grain BTHP.
If going for long range, I'd personally go with the heavier stuff. I've had 155gr SMK-Palma out to 600, but definitely liked the 175/178's more out to a grand or further (1260)
I take 155's out to 600 yards frequently but i'm running a 26" 1- 12 twist. My goto midrange / 155 load is 43.1 gr of W748 i'm running about 2620 fps. I always bring different loads to my 600 yd shoots, our range is notorious for multi-directional wind. If it's a calm day I shoot the 155's , if I see some wind like 168's , and if the wind blows my hat off at the firing line, I park my .308 and break out my .300WM and shoot 208 AMax's LOL
"...Looking for longer range performance..." Can you define that? What rifle, for starters?
"...twist in my M700P..." 1 in 12. Apparently the twist of choice for Palma rifles. http://www.accurateshooter.com/guns-of-week/gunweek059/
