I was scrounging for 9mm JHP ammo and I stumbled across this:
http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=120
its 9mm 147gr +P+.
Haha, where do I begin?
Well, knowing shot placement is key, it seems like this is a very mean round on a handgun as well as anything the bullet might be impacting. I was wanting your thoughts on this round.
Im not concerned about recoil, but was wandering how Buffalo Bores bullet designs are, do they expand reliably? Is it dangerous to have this heavier round loaded to +p+. Judging from the picture the nose cuts are not all that deep and there is lead exposed in a star pattern around the mouth; very interesting! Reloaders insight would be a plus on the pressure subject. Thanks

Ive got a Sig 2022 and MK9, I dont think the Kahr is up to the diet.

Personally, I limit my 9mm to 124 gr bullets....I have found them to be more accurate and very reliable.....YMMV

IIRC, 147 +P+ are SMG rounds

All I can say is that Buffalo Bore has a very good reputation. I like there 9mm 115 grain +P and the 40 cal. They are a little expensive but you get what you pay for and a limited amount of this high powered loading should not damage a modern gun in good condition!

I've used Buffalo Bore ammo, top notch stuff. Recoil is no harsher than standard +p but the gas is a little hotter, very accurate. Give it a shot.

I like the BB 147 gr. +P+. I carry this round when I carry my S&W 3913TSW. I practice with 147 gr. +P, but carry the 147 gr. +P+.

I shot one magazine full (8 shots) in order to compare it to my practice load. I did not find it that much more in recoil than the +P, nor did I find that big a difference in Point of Impact for the 10 yards I shot at. If you are a bullseye shooter you do not want to be shooting these anyway. For personal defense purposes I do not see any problem.

I would not try these in an older gun. Make sure it is in sound condition and note the warning by Buffalo Bore.

I believe, based on memory from the old BB web site, that the 147g +p+ and their other 9mm hps utilize Speer gold dot bullets - usually regarded to be a very reliable expander.
